The fall tackle program is for 2nd through 6th graders and teams are formed by high school area clubs.

Participants in a tackle program must register with a local club formed by the high school area. weigh-in days are scheduled on several Saturdays and weeknights throughout the summer.

Tackle games will be played at Mill Valley High School as well as various locations (Desoto, Leavenworth, Bonner Springs) on Saturdays.

Additional information on the Fall Tackle Season is provided below. 

Restricted Ball Carrier Weights for start of season:

 Division Age or younger on Sept. 1st of year

Ball Carrier Weight

2nd Grade

80 lbs.

3rd Grade

90 lbs.

4th Grade

105 lbs.

5th Grade

120 lbs.

6th Grade

135 lbs 


Players within 5 pounds over the ball carrying weight at weigh-in will be allowed to weigh in under the ball-carrying weight on opening weekend. There will be a 1-pound weight gain allowed for the first six weeks of the season. Note that if a player is stickered as a restricted ball carrier, they may not be unstickered if they fall below the weight after the start of the season. At that point, once stickered, they are stickered for the remainder of the season. If a player is not weighed in by August 27, they will be stickered and not allowed to carry the ball.


League Championship

A League Championship is provided at the end of the season. To participate, you must meet the qualification of a league team.

  • Team Insurance is provided before the first game of the season.
  • All payments to the league are paid in full by the season's first game.
  • No game cancelations


WEIGH-IN

All players registered for Tackle Football must attend one KCSFA Weigh-in Day. 

Before attending:
You will need to bring proof of grade AND age to the weigh-in.

At the Weigh-in at Mill Valley High School, you will:
1) Weigh-in
2) Provide proof of grade (report card, yearbook picture, etc.) 
3) Proof of age (birth certificate, hospital record, passport, state-issued ID, etc.
4) A copy of the physical needs to be given to the coach at the first practice.
 


PHYSICALS

Tackle players MUST have a physical prior to starting practices.  

Ask your area club director for a generic physical form to take to your physician. If you need the "official" form for school physicals, click here for Missouri or Kansas. Turn Physicals into your coach before the first practice. Physicals must be dated after February 1, 2024, to be valid for the 2024 fall tackle football season. 

COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO COLLECT A PHYSICAL FOR EACH PLAYER PRIOR TO OR AT THE FIRST PRACTICE. 
PLEASE GIVE A COPY TO YOUR COACH.

COI - CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE

All league members must have a Certificate of Liability Insurance on file with KCSFA before the first game. 

All Co-op teams must provide COI the week of the scheduled game.
